Liven, Spatial Wellbeing Lab: your space shapes how you feel

Liven Philosophy

Wellbeing begins where you and your space meet

At Liven we begin with you: how you live, rest and feel.

We study how your surroundings influence your physical, emotional and sensory wellbeing to identify imbalances and transform the conditions of the space you live in.

  1. Person
  2. Surroundings
  3. Rebalance

Because spaces inhabit us, too.

There is more to a space than what you see

At Liven we study how light, sound, air quality, materials and layout shape the experience of inhabiting a space. Because wellbeing begins with understanding our surroundings.

A bright living room with sheer linen curtains, a linen sofa, a round stone table and a woven chair, open to a garden terrace.

A room isn’t experienced the same way all day

Choose a time and discover what the space is communicating.

Sound As evening falls, the noise outside drops: linen, the rug and upholstery soften the echo and the room feels serene.

The Liven method

Five stages to rebalance your space

3 months Surroundings Balance Light1Air3Sound2Temperature Person
Tap Body, Mind or Senses to see what we study.Body · Physical wellbeing. Thermal comfort, air quality, lighting, rest, ergonomics and acoustic conditions.Mind · Emotional wellbeing. Perceived safety, calm, privacy, stress, connection and belonging.Senses · Sensory wellbeing. Individual response to light, sound, textures, scents, colours and other environmental stimuli.

These dimensions are related, but not the same. Environmental indicators can be measured objectively; emotional wellbeing is understood through each person’s experience, with interviews and self-assessment tools.

  1. Observe

    Human & Spatial Assessment

    Check-Up

We assess how you are with a biocommunication scan, then your habits, routines and current space.

We begin with you. First, we assess how you are with a biocommunication scan. Then we explore your habits, routines, needs and perceptions of physical and emotional wellbeing, and finally the features of your current space, to understand how you interact with it.

  2. Understand

    Spatial Mapping

    Check-Up

We relate what you perceive to the conditions of your surroundings.

We analyse the environmental and sensory conditions that could be creating imbalances: lighting, noise, temperature, air quality, layout, materials and visual stimuli. We relate these findings to your experiences and needs.

  3. Prioritise

    Wellbeing Strategy

    Check-Up

We order the adjustments by your needs, starting with what can change now.

We identify the improvements with the greatest potential impact on your wellbeing. We design a personalised strategy, starting with accessible adjustments you can put in place right away.

  4. Rebalance

    Spatial Rebalancing

    Follow-on service

We bring the strategy into your surroundings, often without remodelling.

We work on the conditions of the space through sensory architecture, lighting, acoustics, biophilia, ergonomics and environmental design. Our aim is a more harmonious, comfortable environment aligned with your needs, without necessarily resorting to a remodel.

  5. Reassess

    Spatial Review

    Optional follow-up

Three months later, we map it again to see what changed in your wellbeing.

Three months later, we repeat the mapping to learn what changed in your physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. We review the changes made and compare the initial conditions with the current ones. We assess both the environmental indicators and your perception of wellbeing, to identify improvements and make adjustments when needed.
